Areas I work with
I provide therapy for adults in a safe, professional, and inclusive environment, supporting you to navigate challenges in a thoughtful and structured way.
Low Mood & Depression
Persistent low mood, loss of motivation, withdrawal from life, or intrusive negative thoughts can significantly affect daily functioning. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand the development of these difficulties and to work systematically toward restoring energy, perspective, and emotional balance.
This might include symptoms of:
Losing motivation to do hobbies you usually enjoy.
Significant changes in appetite or weight (increase or decrease).
Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt.
Sleep disturbances—insomnia or sleeping too much.
Anxiety & Panic
Anxiety can manifest in many ways, including generalized worry, social anxiety, panic, or phobias. Through a structured approach, therapy helps identify triggers, understand maintaining patterns, and build effective coping strategies to reduce distress and regain confidence in daily life.
Examples of phobias are:
Social Phobia (Social Anxiety Disorder)
Agoraphobia (Fear of crowded places, open spaces, or leaving home.)
Claustrophobia (for example in Elevators, planes, tunnels, MRI scanners)
Burnout Recovery
Work-related pressure, high expectations, and “always-on” lifestyles can lead to exhaustion and burnout. Therapy helps recognise early warning signs, develop boundaries, and create sustainable routines that protect your mental and physical health.
Those struggling with burnout may experience (among many other symptoms):
Emotional Exhaustion
Cognitive Impairment
Physical Symptoms (chronic fatigue, headaches, insomnia)
Irritability & Mood Changes
Self-Care Neglect
Obsessive
Compulsive
Disorder (OCD)
OCD can involve intrusive thoughts, repetitive behaviours, or mental rituals that interfere with daily functioning. Therapy provides a structured and supportive framework to explore these patterns, develop strategies to reduce compulsions, and regain flexibility and control.
OCD can take on many different forms, but includes:
Contamination & Cleaning OCD
Symmetry, Ordering & Arranging OCD
Intrusive Thoughts / Mental OCD
Health-Related OCD
Self-Esteem & Image
Low self-esteem can impact relationships, career, and overall wellbeing. Therapy supports exploration of the origins of these patterns, challenges unhelpful self-judgments, and fosters the development of a more balanced, resilient sense of self.
These may include:
Social Self-Esteem
Body Image & Appearance
Self-Worth & Identity
Interpersonal & Relationship Confidence
Expat & Life Transitions
Adjusting to life in a new environment or while struggling to come to terms with an aspect of your identity can create unique stressors, including feelings of isolation, uncertainty, or disconnection. As someone who has lived internationally and is inclusive of all gender, relationship and sexuality orientations, I provide therapy that is sensitive to these experiences, helping you navigate transitions and build stability and belonging.
These may include:
Expat Transitions (acculturation, stress management, coping with isolation)
Relationship Transitions (grief, divorce, identity shifts)
Health & Life Changes and adapting to a new version of oneself
Identity & Personal Growth (Gender transition, sexuality)
Other Areas of Support
I also support individuals dealing with relationship or attachment challenges, trauma, sleep difficulties or early-life experiences that continue to affect daily life. If you’re facing a challenge that isn’t listed here, you are welcome to contact me to discuss whether therapy could help.
I am unable to accept clients who are currently in crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts. I also do not accept referrals from SGGZ. If you are struggling or in immediate danger, please contact your GP or call 113 (Netherlands) for support.
