For women struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
An 8-week structured therapy programme
Does this sound like you?
You have thoughts, images or doubts that feel intrusive, frightening or difficult to let go of.
You find yourself checking, researching, asking for reassurance, avoiding situations, repeating things, or mentally going over the same question again and again.
You know some of your fears may not be rational, but knowing this doesn't stop you feeling that you need to do something about them.
You spend a lot of time trying to get certainty — about your relationship, your health, your decisions, your safety, or whether you might have done something wrong.
OCD isn't simply about being neat, careful or particular. It can involve thoughts and fears that are completely at odds with your values and cause significant distress. Compulsions can also be difficult to recognise because they aren't always visible. They can happen entirely in your mind.
What we'll work on
-
We'll identify your specific obsessions, compulsions and avoidance patterns, and understand how attempts to reduce anxiety or achieve certainty are keeping the cycle going.
-
We'll work on changing your relationship with intrusive thoughts rather than trying to prove whether they are true, important or meaningful. The aim is to become less dependent on certainty and reassurance.
-
This may include visible compulsions such as checking, washing or repeating, as well as less obvious compulsions such as rumination, mental reviewing, comparing, researching or asking others for reassurance.
-
The programme uses DBT with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for OCD. Together, we'll gradually approach situations, thoughts or uncertainties that you have been avoiding while reducing the compulsive responses that normally follow.
-
The goal isn't to make intrusive thoughts disappear or to guarantee that you will never feel anxious. It is to help you learn that you can experience uncertainty, discomfort or an unwanted thought without needing to respond to it with a compulsion.

By the end of the programme
-
By the end of the programme, you should have a better understanding of your OCD and, more importantly, feel more able to respond differently when it shows up. You’ll have practised resisting compulsions, sitting with uncertainty and letting intrusive thoughts pass without needing to analyse, check or seek reassurance.
-
You should be able to:
spend less time checking, ruminating or seeking reassurance
feel less compelled to respond to intrusive thoughts
are better able to tolerate uncertainty without needing an answer
avoid fewer situations because of OCD
recognise compulsions more quickly, including mental compulsions
feel more able to make decisions without repeatedly seeking certainty
have a clear framework for continuing your progress beyond the eight weeks
Get in touch to feel supported
OCD can be exhausting because it continually asks for one more check, one more question, one more reassurance or one more attempt to feel certain.
Therapy can help you step out of that cycle.
This eight-week programme provides structured, focused treatment for women who want to understand their OCD and begin changing the behaviours that keep it going.
